Third Meeting

Today we started working on the actual structure of our piece as we wanted to begin writing the script. I came up with the idea of performing in the style of a news program. We decided that this was a good idea as it would allow us to incorporate different medias into our performance without it looking as if we were randomly sticking different medias into our performance just forthe sake of it. With this idea we could use telephone conversations, videos, e-mails and links to the internet within the structure of a news program.

The basic plot of our performance is focused on the story of a miner who got trapped down a mine for forty years (this way, he would know the basic concepts of what machines, computers and telephones are, preventing a boring rapport that the audience would probably not appreciate). There is a link to youtube (http://www.youtube.com/) that will show a video of the miner coming out of the mine. We're going to try and make it quite comical so we'll have to wait and see how that turns out!
